The Q2 Way

Executing Strategy Through Culture

Posted on 24th July 2025

At Volpi, we believe that a company’s strategy is only as strong as its ability to execute, and that execution lives or dies in its culture.

Most strategies fail not because they’re flawed, but because organizations struggle to deliver on them consistently. Priorities shift, communication breaks down, decisions stall, and people default to old habits.

The Q2 Way addresses this execution gap by treating culture not as a set of values on a wall, but as the real-world operating environment of the business; the shared mindsets, norms, and behaviors that shape what actually gets done, how, and by whom. By designing that environment intentionally, we help leadership teams build cultures that don’t just feel good, they drive results.

How it works

The Q2 Way is a structured, end-to-end approach to executing strategy by building the culture required to deliver it. It unfolds across three core phases, supported by five programme steps that make the work measurable, actionable, practical and deeply human.

The Q2 Way engages the Head (how results are achieved), the Heart (how teams are connected), and the Soul (how people are inspired). We believe the most effective cultures operate on all three levels aligning performance with purpose and connection.

Phase 1: Clarify the Strategic Execution Gap: We begin by identifying where execution is breaking down — and why. Using the Q2 Way Survey and in-depth interviews with a cross-section of employees, we build a rich picture of your current cultural landscape.

This data feeds into the Q2 Way Report, which is shared in a working session with the leadership team and selected participants. Together, we explore how current mindsets, behaviors, and systems are either enabling or blocking your ability to execute on strategic goals.

Phase 2: Design the Culture to Deliver: With clarity on where you are and where you need to go, we co-create the roadmap to get there. In a series of focused design workshops, we define what a flourishing, high-performing culture looks like for your business and what needs to change to bring that vision to life.

This isn’t about abstract ideals. It’s about aligning decision-making processes, incentive structures, communication rhythms, and team rituals with the behaviors and beliefs required to execute strategy effectively.

Phase 3: Build Capacity and Embed Change: Execution doesn’t happen from the top down, it lives in the habits and decisions of people across the business. That’s why we support your teams in activating the roadmap, tracking progress, celebrating wins, and making continuous adjustments as needed.

That’s The Q2 Way: a holistic, human-centered approach that activates the Head, the Heart, and the Soul of an organization — all in service of results that matter.

The Q2 Way: Strategic Execution Framework

Phase

HEADHow results are achieved

HEARTHow teams are connected

SOULHow people are inspired

Phase 1: Clarify the Strategic Execution Gap

Bring clarity to how goals, decisions, and priorities are communicated and understood surfacing gaps in rhythm, accountability, and alignment.

Assess how psychologically safe, collaborative, and connected people feel. This step reveals where trust is strong and where it’s holding execution back.

Explore the deeper purpose: Do people feel connected to the mission? Do they see how their work contributes to something meaningful? We surface signals of engagement and potential for growth.

Phase 2: Design the Culture to Deliver

Design systems that support execution: goal-setting frameworks, meeting cadences, feedback loops, and decision-making clarity — building rhythm and focus into the operating model.

Intentionally shape how people relate — codifying team rituals, inclusion practices, and leadership behaviors that build trust, psychological safety, and a sense of belonging.

Anchor the design in purpose, making sure people see how their work connects to a broader mission and have pathways to grow, contribute, and lead in ways that matter to them.

Phase 3: Build Capacity and Embed Change

Embed new rhythms and habits that reinforce strategy. This includes accountability practices, clear KPIs, and tools for ongoing execution discipline.

Develop the relational capabilities that sustain cultural change: active listening, inclusive leadership, coaching skills, and cross-functional collaboration.

Foster a shared sense of belief — ensuring that as the organization scales, people stay connected to purpose, possibility, and each other. Culture becomes not just a system, but a source of energy.
